The Secretary to Taraba State Government, Honorable Anthony Jellason has called on Law Enforcement Agencies of the State to ensure strict compliance in stopping the spread of corona virus pandemic in the state. ‘Patrol teams will be dispatched around the State capital and Local Governments areas in observing adherence’, he said.
Stating this earlier today to reporters of Taraba linked Voices in Jalingo, he said the law enforcement agencies together with health workers are largely part of the first line of defence in the control of the virus. The SSG also outlined that the Governor in his wisdom has constituted a Covid-19 Technical Committee headed by Commissioner of Health and the direct closure of primary, secondary schools and tertiary institutions in the state. This is also in connection to civil servants from grade level one to twelve to stay at home for two Weeks.
In addition, he also explained the directive by the Governor to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Muslim councils to sensitize people at the grassroots on the prevention of Covid- 19 by restricting social gatherings, direct ban of inter-state travels, de-congestion of passengers at motor parks as well as distribution of hand sanitizers for personal hygiene.
The SSG revealed that henceforth security operatives will ensure strict compliance is observed by the public on staying at home and social distancing amongst others.
Honorable Jellason said every citizen of the state has a role play in the fight against this deadly pandemic which will add to the efforts of the State Government in fighting the spread of the disease to safe lives in Taraba.
