The Rescue Administration of Governor Darius Ishaku has commenced the distribution of food items to Muslim faithfuls in the state. Over 4000 bags of millet and 3,800 bags of sugar has been released to various muslim communities in all the Local Government Areas of the state to aid in the Ramadan fasting.
During an inspection of the food items at the warehouse, Deputy Governor Engr. Haruna Manu said that the lockdown imposed by the state authority to curb the spread of the covid-19 virus has largely affected the Muslim fasting period and thus it is the duty of the government to ease the hardship with the provision of the food items.
In addition, the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON State chairman, Mr. Nashiru Bobboji who received some food items on behalf of Local Government Chairmen applauded the efforts of the state government for putting the needs of the people during such a crucial time as the nation battles the deadly pandemic.
