Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has warned all those using their offices to sow the seed of disunity to desist forthwith or face the consequences.
The Governor made the remarks during the presentation of report of the eight man TIV Committee on Internally displaced persons in Donga Local Government Area of the state.
He condemned some clergies hiding under the guise of religion to undermined his peace efforts describing the act as unfortunate since they do not want to say the truth.
Governor Darius Ishaku said he has worked relentlessly to broker peace through several meetings crisscrossing various communities with his Benue State counterpart, Gov. Samuel Ortom.
The Governor recalled the proactive steps he took when recent crisis between the Jukun and Tiv erupted by providing security and palliatives for them and assured Tarabans that peace is achievable because God has been faithful to his administration.
He advised Tivs and Jukuns to sheath their sword and desire peace for the good of the state.
Earlier, Leader of the eight man Committee and also a Commissioner of Social Development, Mrs. Bridget Twar commended Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for his swift response by vacating Tivs from Baissa in Kurmi Local Government Area to Chanchanji because of the threat to their lives. She however, pleaded with the State Governor to send more palliatives to the IDPs despite present economic challenges bedevilling the society.
