Governor Darius Ishaku says the recurrent crisis in the Southern and Central parts of the State was the reason behind the establishment of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry between TIVs and their neighbors.
The Governor Stated this when he received the reports of the Commission at the Excos Chambers, Government House Jalingo.
He recalled that the Tivs are either victims or aggressors in all the crisis that had erupted in the State since nineteen ninety one between them and their neighbors which his administration cannot allow to continue.
The Governor blamed the Benue State Government for frustrating the demarcation of neighboring communities of Benue and Taraba stating that both State must follow the demarcation law of nineteen twenty three.
The Governor thanked the Members of the Commission for meeting the date line of the assignment and promised to study the report In a bid to finding lasting solution.
Earlier, Justice Kumai Akaahs Bayang said the recent crisis between the Tivs and their neighbors was a monumental lost estimated to over fourteen billion naira.
Bayang, imployed people of Southern Taraba to be just in their dealings maintaining that injustice retard progress.
The Justice explained that the report was not done to witch hunt any one but was done to make recommendations for stability and peace.
He thanked the State Governor for remaining neutral at the course of their assignment and his Members for meeting the date line of the assignment.
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry between Tiv and their neighbors were inaugurated on the twenty fourth of July, twenty twenty by Governor Darius Ishaku at the Excos Chambers Government House Jalingo.
