Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba has rounded up on a two days workshop in Jalingo on Security, Protocol and etiquette on the 2nd to 3rd June, 2021 at the foundation’s conference hall for government officials and various ministries of the state.
Wife of Taraba State Governor and CEO of HAFT, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku who lamented on the deteriorating security situation in the country, said that with the increasing crime rates all over there is a dire need to discuss how best to safeguard lives and property for a better society.
The Governor’s wife urged participants of the workshop to translate and communicate the ideas and knowledge acquired to others in the state.
Presenting her paper on Etiquette, Nutritionist and dietician, Mrs. Hannatu Hamman highlighted on various food to eat and avoid. She also advised on the dangers of excessive intake of salt which is widely common amongst Nigerians.
According to her, obesity is a leading factor for diabetes and can be averted through regular exercise, eating fruits, dietary modification and abstinence of alcohol and cigarettes.
On his part, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP David Missal who spoke on security said absence of peace brings about backwardness in any society. He further explained the usage of a security police mobile application for the general public called ‘NPF Rescue Me’ which can be downloaded on any smart phone online and can be instrumental in the tracking of victims in case of an emergency.
In his paper, Permanent Secretary on Protocol, Taraba State Government House, Kabiru Dauda Marafa said the duties of a good protocol officer hinges on good communication skills, self control and understanding confidentiality.
Some of the State Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, Permanent Secretaries and political officers were all participants of the workshop.
